Cora Hinson

Cora Magdalene Hinson, age 98 of 15124 Reap Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001, passed away on October 28, 2010 at Britthaven of the Piedmont in Albemarle. Born in Guilford County on January 22, 1912 she was the daughter of the late Lindsey Monroe and Lenora Poole Hinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Lumas “Bud” Hinson who passed away in 1994; one daughter, Annie Jane Hinson Stamper; eight sisters, Alice Edwards, Elizabeth Hunter, Davie Norman, Ann Nelms, Edna Knocks, Omea Hastings, Josephine Hinson, two brothers; Joe Hinson and Richard Hinson; one granddaughter, Donna Stamper Laney. Cora Hinson is survived by two sons; Richard Lumas Hinson, Jr and wife Elsie of Albemarle, Marvin Ray Hinson and wife Barbara of New London; six grandchildren, Janet Hinson Godwin, Roger Hinson, Sherri Hinson Blackmon, Michelle Morgan, Kevin Efird, and Chris Stamper; six great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a special friend Dean Sasser. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 3 to 4 pm at Aquadale Baptist Church. There will be a 1 hour state prior to the service. Funeral services will be 4 pm Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Aquadale Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Scott officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Aquadale Baptist Church, 32871 Church St. Norwood, NC 28128. At other times the family will be meeting at the home of her son Richard Hinson, Jr., 15124 Reap Road, Albemarle.
