Cora Scott

Cora Clapp Scott, 80 of Concord, NC passed away on Sunday, December 18th at St. Andrews Assisted Living Center in Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, December 21st from 10 until 11 am. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the chapel, with Rev. Scott Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC. Cora was born on August 2, 1931, in Glade Spring, Virginia to the late James David and Amelia Coe Clapp. Cora was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years L. Paul Scott, Jr.; sisters, Elizabeth Ratliff, Velma Rice and Annie Baumgarder; brothers, David Clapp and Charlie Clapp. Before moving to North Carolina, Cora was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Salem, VA., where she coordinated The Children’s Sunday School. Cora was a member of Pitts Baptist Church, and retired from Double Envelope in Roanoke, VA. She is survived by her sister, Mary C. Haynes of Chattanooga, TN.
