Cora Thompson

Cora Nell Mullis Thompson, 81 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at Bethany Woods, in Albemarle.

Nell was born January 28, 1934 in Union County to the late Otto Lane Mullis and Vergie Ellen Mullis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lee Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM , at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle on Wednesday March 25, 2015 . The funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Joe Smith. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include son, Sherrill Thompson of New London; daughter, Cora Frances Thompson Bowden of Huntsville, Alabama; brothers, Landon Mullis of New London and Mack Mullis of Albemarle; and sisters, Bernice Almond and Dolly Howard.
