Cornelia Burris McCorkle
Mrs. Cornelia (Connie) Burris McCorkle passed away at her home on June 8, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Cornelia was born October 29, 1946 to the late James B. and Willie Mae Burris of Mt. Pleasant, N.C. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and went on to pursue a career in health care. She spent her professional life in patient care at Northeast Medical Center and several of the local long term care facilities.
In addition to her parents, Cornelia was preceded in death by a son Perry Wayne Currie and five brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memories are her husband Gene T. McCorkle, two children, Taska Lanee Currie Kluttz and Darren O’neal Smith. Four grandchildren, Stephanie Sherri Currie, Bryan Steven Kluttz (Michelle), Ashlynn Nicole Kluttz Peralta (Jacob), and Kenneth Jason Rhyne, plus three great-grandchildren, Landen Michael Steven Kluttz, Ashton Hunter George Kluttz, and Dominic Christian Peralta, also six brothers and sisters.
A special thanks to her sister Sheila for all the fun trips and shopping sprees.
A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church Saturday June 25, 2016 at 3:00pm with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Rev. Ed Hall will officiate. Memorials may be made to:
