Coy L. âChubâ Eudy passed away Aug 9, 2009, in the loving care of his wife, children and grandsons, at his home in Oakboro. Coy was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Stanly County, to the late Carrie Burleson Eudy and Charlie H. Eudy. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Loretta Everhart Eudy of Oakboro, a daughter Lisa Eudy Smith, and a son Shane L. Eudy, both of Albemarle. He is also survived by three grandsons, Clint Smith, Austin Eudy and Dillon Eudy. His loving dog and constant companion, Rocky, preceded him in death in 2006. During his many months of illness, he was visited by two brothers, Coolidge Eudy of Oakboro and J.C. Eudy of Cramerton, a sister Shirley Turner of Harrisburg, a special uncle Ralph Eudy of Albemarle, a special cousin James âDobberâ Burleson of Locust, nephews Tony Lowder of Goose Creek, S.C., Ronnie Lowder of Albemarle and Larry Eudy of Oakboro, and many old family and friends, all of whom survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Eudy Carter and Louise Eudy Lowder. He was employed by Eaton â Aeroquip Corporation in Norwood for 25 years. Coy retired when Aeroquip closed in 2004. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict while serving in the Army. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 9:30 â 10:30, Tuesday, August 11, prior to the service. Rev. Delaine Burris is officiating. Flag presentation will be graveside by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12.
