Coy Thomas

Coy Cleveland Thomas,75, of Concord passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Universal Healthcare in Concord. Born on June 15, 1935 in Cabarrus County to the late Grover and Minnie Herrin Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife Stella Easley Thomas, step-daughter Marcia Russell, brother Ed Irby and sister Lula Wilson. He was retired from China Grove Cotton Mill, and was a graduate of Concord High School. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Sunday, February, 20, 2011 from 1:30 until 2:30 PM. Funeral services will follow at 3 PM in the chapel, with Rev. Darrell Coble officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will be meeting at the home of a step-daughter Sue Furr at 2671 Cold Springs Road East Concord. Survived by: step-daughters, Lois Burns of Salisbury, Shirley Tuck and husband Jerry of Concord, Venita Helms and husband Larry of Concord, and Sue Furr and husband Darrell of Concord; brothers, Ray Thomas and wife Ruby of Concord, Gary Thomas and wife Peggy of Concord; sister, Thelma Hartsell of Albemarle; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
