Coy "Butch" Bowers

Coy Lee "Butch" Bowers, 62, of New London, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at his home.

Butch was born March 29, 1960 in Stanly County to the late George Rufus Bowers and the late Flonnie May Bowers. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Louise Dennis.

There will be a private family service at a later date.

He is survived by his siblings, Melvie Reau Earnhardt of New London, Mickey Owens of New London, Bobby (Betty Sue) Bowers of Albemarle, Wanda Bowers of Albemarle, Evie Bowers of Florida, Wesley Bowers of Mt. Gilead; nieces and nephews, Sally Bish, Corey Crisco, Amy Earnhardt, Beth Stroud, Destiny Bish, Courtney Bowers, Kimberly and Kristen Bowers, Daniel Bowers, Alicia Bowers, Stephanie Bowers, Brian Burgess, Melissa Burgess, Sheila Hall; special friends, Paul and Sarah Wilkins, Ronald Bailey, Paul Lowder, Eddie and Angie Cline, and his church and Ground 40 family.

Butch was a loving brother, uncle, and friend to many. He had a generous spirit and selfless passion for helping others. Butch enjoyed sports, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He also enjoyed fishing and wood working. He was a man of God, and encouraged many people to find freedom from addiction through Jesus.
