Crawford White

Crawford Alexander White, 87 of Concord, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at St. Andrews Assisted Living Center. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 10 until 11 am. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the chapel, with Rev. Douglas Van Niel officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Crawford was born on May 4, 1924 in Mecklenburg County, to the late Graham Alexander and Rena McConnell White. He served in WWII in the South Pacific. Mr. White was a retired minister of the Presbyterian Church USA, having served in Locust and Indian Hill Presbyterian churches in Stanly County from 1952 until 1956 and Second Presbyterian Church in Concord from 1956 until 1984. He was a Moderate of Old Concord Presbytery and Commissioner to the General Assembly. He also served in various committees in the Presbytery. In his retirement, he served as Interim to Robinson, Locust, Second Kannapolis, Royal Oaks, Kirkwood and Bethpage Churches. He also served as a Parish Associate to the Bethpage Church. Crawford is survived by his wife, Eloise of Concord; daughters, Maribeth W. Masterson and husband Doug, Margaret W. Morris and husband Ted, all of Matthews; Five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
