Currie Dail

Currie Allen “Bud” Dail, 85, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 1:45pm, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8947 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00pm officiated by Currie Allen Dail, Jr. The service will be livestreamed at CBCCharlotte.com and at the CBCCharlotte YouTube channel. Burial will take place at 9:00am Friday, September 23, 2022, at Salisbury National Cemetery at 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC.

Bud was born June 13, 1937, in Wolfscrape, North Carolina to the late Currie Dail and Annie Mae Barnette Dail. He was also preceded in death by his sister Louise Evans.

Survivors include wife, Martha Ellen Davis Dail; son, Currie Allen Dail, Jr. and wife Pam; daughter, Latricia Mae Dail Chastain and husband Rick; son, Mark Jonas Dail and wife Cindy; grandsons, Currie Joseph Dail, Rickey Lee Chastain, Jr., Michael Alexander Dail and wife Carly, Kevin Matthew Chastain and wife Lauren, Jeremy Allen Chastain and wife Heather, Mark Jonas Dail II and wife Erika, and Dillon James Dail and wife Lauren. He is also survived by sister, Laura Eloise Honeycutt; brother, Billy Raybon Dail and wife Ruth, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Bud entered the US Air Force at the age of 17. He served for 20 years in hospital administration and retired as a Technical Sergeant. He then went to work at Rodgers Builders in Charlotte, specializing in hospital renovations. He enjoyed fishing, photography, gardening, woodworking, and construction of all types. He later poured his talent into smaller projects such as bird houses and wooden cross necklaces. He was most recently a member of Love Chapel Methodist Church in Stanfield and the church at Whitestone Retirement Community in Greensboro.
