D. A. Bradford Williams, 94 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Williams was born March 16, 1923 in Union County to the late Daniel Alexander Williams and Rebecca Greene Williams. He was also preceded in death by wife, Geneva Justine Williams, three sisters and six brothers.
Brad was a member of American Legion Post 221 having served in the US Army in Europe during WWII. He worked for Nebel Knitting as a machine fixer and later for Mecklenburg Co Government as a HVAC and Refrigeration Specialist as well as working on the farm. He loved gardening and liked raising vegetables. Brad loved spending time with his son, Andrew, working on old cars and farm equipment.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Tom Gibbs. Burial will be held at the Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery at 7920 Crooked Creek Church Rd., Monroe.
Survivors include son, Andrew B. Williams of Charlotte and sister, Grace Stegall of Indian Trail.
