Daisy Greene

Daisy Mae Barnette Greene, 97, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle.

Daisy was born February 9, 1920 in Charlotte to the late James Frank Barnette and the late Lula Eugenia Barnette. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Rev. Macon Partee Greene, who passed away in 1979; and nine brothers and sisters.

There will be a private graveside service on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Dr. Wayne Bennett. She will lie in state from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.

She is survived by her son, Kenny Greene and wife Cathy of Mount Gilead; daughter, Kathy Bedussi Hardee and husband Mike of Warrenton; grandchildren, Jason M. Greene and wife Adrienne, Elizabeth, Christian, and Jessica Bedussi, Matthew and Scott Swift; great-grandchildren, Logan and Hayden Greene, Matteo Bedussi, and McKenzie Miller.

Daisy loved being a minister's wife. As a widow she loved Senior trips to see the country, shop and fellowship. In her later years, she enjoyed the widows luncheons with her friends from her church.

The family would like to thank all the people in the church community for the past six years, and the staff at Spring Arbor of Albemarle for caring for Daisy the last six months.
