Dallie Efird

Dallie Barbee Efird, age 94, of Locust, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Stanly Manor. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland from 6 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 27 at 2:00 PM at Carolina Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Michael Cannon, Jr. Burial will follow at the Locust Presbyterian Church. She was born in Stanly County on April 15, 1918, to the late Israel Jackson and the late Frances Carter Barbee and was the sole survivor of 13 children. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Efird and great grand-daughter, Kerri D. Efird. Mrs. Efird is survived by four sons, James Efird and his wife Carol of Locust, Mitchell Efird and his wife Linda of Albemarle, Martin Efird and his wife Connie of Mt. Gilead, Richard Efird and his wife Carrie of Albemarle; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was a Charter Member of Carolina Presbyterian Church and was the oldest member. She was retired from Cannon Mills. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Stanly Manor for the loving care given to their mother.
