Daniel Kirchner

Daniel “Dan” Edward Kirchner, 71, of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord on Thursday, November 29, 2012, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Winslow, will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, on Friday, November 30, 2012, at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens. Mr. Kirchner was born on August 14, 1941, to the late Francis Charles Kirchner and the late Teresa Gaza Kirchner. He is also preceded in death by a son, Brian Kirchner; a brother, Charles Kirchner and a granddaughter, Grace Marie Kirchner. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Tilly Kirchner; son, Dan and wife Lisa Kirchner of Harrisburg; daughter, Melissa Kirchner of Charlotte; daughter- in- law, Randy Kirchner of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Trevor and Zoe; two brothers, Richard Kirchner and wife, Marion of Kansas City, MO, and James Kirchner and wife, Jane of Smith Center, KS; two sisters, Kathleen Rector of Allerton, IA and Mary Jo Arneson and husband, James of Seward, NE; sister in law, Kathleen Kirchner of Kansas City, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was an award winning wood carver and was a member of the Charlotte Woodcarvers Club.
