Daniel Smith

Daniel Columbus Smith 98, of Concord, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis. Mr. Smith was born March 4, 1915 in North Carolina to the late Arthur Motley Smith and Allie Clontz Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Sneed Smith, and sons, Richard and Ronald Smith. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the US Army. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church 4360 Polk Ford Road, Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Church, officiated by Pastor Jim White . Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Donna Smith; grandchildren, Christine Blythe of Concord, and Rusty Smith of Yanceyville; sister, Ethel Bostic of Concord; and five great grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Smith family.
