Darrell Eury

Darrell Joe Eury, 67, of Oakboro, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at his home.

Darrell was born August 11, 1955 in North Carolina to the late Joe Lee Eury and the late Gladys Geraldine Smith Eury.
He was also preceded in death by son, Wesley Joe Eury and brother, Tony Eury.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Red Cross Baptist Church in Oakboro officiated by Rev. Jesse Herring. Darrell will lie-in-state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Red Cross Baptist Church Cemetery at 112 W. Red Cross Rd., Oakboro.

Survivors include wife, Betty P. Eury of Oakboro, NC; children, Virginia Eury (Rob) Backman and Scot Darrell (Melinda) Eury; grandchildren, Cerenity, Jared, and Hannah; and siblings, Clarence Eury of Concord, NC, Clay Eury of Kansas, Jeff Eury of Oakboro, Lamar Eury of Florida, and Roger Eury of Oakboro.

Darrell was member of Red Cross Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was also a member of Stanly Masonic Lodge #348,  Albemarle Order of the Eastern Star #71 and Midland Order of the Eastern Star #260. Darrell enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. He will be remembered as a patient man who loved helping people.
