Darrell Furr

Darrell Gene Furr, 71 years of age, of Kannapolis, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.
Darrell was born January 28, 1945 in Concord, NC to the late Bruce Warren Furr and the late Helen Kathleen Shue. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Cruse; as well as his brothers, Wayne Furr and Bruce Furr.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Deanna Furr; daughters, Brooke Sterka & husband Michael, Leanna Woodward & husband Matt, Jennifer Burris & husband Jeff; sons Eric Furr & wife Lori, Bryant Furr, Scott Furr & wife Dawn, David Furr & wife Kelly; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Furr and Douglas Furr; several nieces and nephews; as well as two beloved grand-dogs.
Darrell proudly served in the United States Army. His passion was preaching in church and sharing the gospel with everyone. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Church of God of the Bible, 1109 Birch St., Kannapolis, NC. The funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 pm officiated by Bishop Paul Heffner and Pastor Tommy Brown. Burial will take place on Monday, July 18th at 10:00 am at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.
