David Wayne Almond

David Wayne Almond, 66, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his home.

David was born March 1, 1958, in Rowan County, North Carolina to the late Leroy Almond and the late Ruth Alene Cox Almond. 

He was also preceded in death by wife of 20 years, Karen Annette Almond and brothers, Brendon Almond and Danny Lane Almond.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 am at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Troy officiated by Pastor Jason Almond and Jarrod Almond. Burial will immediately follow at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery at 819 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Troy, NC 27371.

Survivors include sons, Jeremy Wayne Almond of Albemarle, NC, Jason Edward Almond (Ellen) of Norwood, NC, Jarrod James Almond (Beverly) of Albemarle, NC; step-daughters, Carmen Simpson and Courtney Sneed (Matthew); grandchildren, David, Luke, Abigail, JoyAnna, Joshua, Carson, Eston, MacKenzie, and Ella Grace; brothers, Reggie Almond and Jimmy Almond; and sisters, Kathryn Yow, and Alene Hinson.

He adored his grandchildren, who brought endless joy to his life and who will forever cherish the love and wisdom he shared with them. His passion for tractors and a steadfast admiration for President Donald J. Trump were well-known to all who knew him.

David spent 50 dedicated years in the automotive business, earning respect and admiration for his work ethic, expertise, and the countless relationships he built over the years.
