David Barbee

David Karroll Barbee, 66, of 6939 Barrier-Georgeville Road Concord passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at Avante of Concord. Born on September 9, 1944 in Cabarrus County to the late Ira and Myrtle Auten Barbee. Also preceded in death by his wife Betsy Beal Barbee on June 4, 2010, brothers Ken and Wade Biggers and sister Margaret Barbee. Mr. Barbee was a supervisor with Cannon Mills, and a member of St. Stephens Wesleyan Church. He also worked in the floral business with various local florists. The family meeting place will be at the home. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11 AM, with Rev. Gary Morris and Rev. Ronald Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survived by: son, Chris Barbee of Concord; brothers, Tracy Barbee and Fred Biggers both of Concord; sisters, Polly Walker of Concord, Mable Mills of Concord and Ponza Brannon of Charlotte; numerous nieces and nephews; close friend and caregiver, Steve Cagle.
