David Crowell, age 57 of 1416 Crowell Dairy Road, Indian Trail, passed away on September 5, 2010 at his home. The family will receive friends at Hopewell Baptist Church, Monroe, on Tuesday from 7 to 9. At other times the family will be at the home, 1416 Crowell Dairy Road, Indian Trail. Funeral service will be at Hopewell Baptist Church on Wednesday at 2 PM with a 30 minute state. Rev. Dr. Lee Pigg and Rev. Jim Couick will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Union County, NC on December 6, 1952, he was a son of the late Erskine Dexter Crowell, Sr. and Mary Jane Baucom Crowell of Monroe. Mr. Crowell is survived by his wife Barbara of the home; sons, Michael Crowell of Lillington, NC and Justin Crowell of the home; daughter, Amanda Crowell Ingraham and husband David of the home; brothers, Bud Crowell, and Jan of Idaho, Rick Crowell and wife Donna of Indian Trail, Tom Crowell and wife Vickie of Harrisburg, Tim Crowell of Harrisburg, John Crowell and wife Lori of Roswell, Ga.; Kevin Crowell and wife Glenda of Bessemer City; sister, Mary Crowell Morgan and husband Rick of Myrtle Beach, SC; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend. He was a brick mason and raised beef cows as a hobby. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where he taught two year olds in Sunday school. He was always available to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors.
