David Daniel Dagenhart, 92 years of age, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 2, 2015.
David was born November 27, 1922 in Iredell County to the late Lawrence McKinnley Dagenhart and the late Eula Mae Sharpe Dagenhart. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cleo Benfield Dagenhart, in 1969; a brother, Harold Dagenhart; and a sister, Estelle Boggs.
The graveside service will be at 1pm Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4815 NC Highway #49 in Harrisburg, officiated by Rev. Charles Efird. Military honors will be conducted by the Cabarrus County Honor Guard.
David honorably served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 69th Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was actively involved with the American Legion. David retired after forty years as a foreman with Duke Power Company.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Beth Dagenhart of Harrisburg; and sisters, Mary Dagenhart Hooks of Lexington and Hilda Dagenhart Brower of Asheboro.
