David Jack Englebert, 61, of Harrisburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
David was born March 14, 1955 in Cheyenne, Wyoming . He was preceded in death by his father and grandson.
David was a dedicated Duke Energy employee for 42 years, and was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church - Main Campus in Charlotte.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Ave., Midland. The family will also receive friends on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Hickory Grove Baptist Church - Main Campus in Charlotte. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the sanctuary, officiated by Rev. John Harrill. The burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd., Charlotte.
In addition to his mother, Edith Englebert of Clermont, FL, he is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Gay Englebert of the home; daughters, Angela Englebert Peterson and husband Mark of Wilmington, Amy Englebert Powell and husband Tony of Tifton, GA; three grandchildren, Jared, Lee, and Dakota; three brothers; two sisters; and his two beloved golden retriever boys, Bentley and Oliver.
A special thanks to Harley and Teresa Vea for their unending love and support. The family is also grateful to the Vea/Knight Sunday School Class of Hickory Grove Baptist Church for their love, prayers, and generosity. They would also like to thank their Hickory Grove church family and Hearts & Hammers.
