David Griffiths Haggerty,Sr., Age 70 of Midland, NC 28107, passed away on September 29, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa, on October 14, 1938. David Griffiths Haggerty, Sr. was preceded in death by his mother Mabel Griffiths Haggerty, his father William Haggerty Sr, sister 1 , his brothers 3 He was formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, he was a truck driver for MTG and a member of Teamsters Local 249. He was a member of Carolina Presbyterian Church of Locust, NC. Memorials may be made to St.Jude’s Hospital., 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. The family will meet at the home.. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 2:00 PM 4:00 PM at Carolina Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 02, 2009 at 04:00 PM at Carolina Presbyterian, with the minister Rev. Patrick Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Pres. Locust David Griffiths Haggerty, Sr. was survived by his spouse Cyrilla Helen Weber Haggerty of Midland NC, his daughters Cynthia Leonhard and husband James of Valencia, Pa. Debbie Falgione and husband Gregg of Locust NC, Ruthy Byrnes and husband Paul of Gibsonia, Pa, his sons David Haggerty,Jr. and wife Rita of Mars Pa, Clifford Haggerty and wife Darlene of Locust NC, his grandchildren 12, great grandchild 1, his sister Sue Collins of Moundsville, WV. Military honors graveside by Albemarle-Stanly County DAV Chaper 12. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is assisting the Haggerty family.
