David Hartsell

David Leon Hartsell, 74 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

He was born April 4, 1940 in North Carolina to the late Robert Hartsell and the late Clara Faye Hartsell. David worked and retired from Cannon Mills for the City of Concord stopping traffic at school crosswalks. He also coached softball for Miami Baptist and First Church of God on Corbin Ave.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.

The funeral service will be on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Miami Baptist Church in Concord officiated by Rev. Robert Howard. The burial will follow at the Miami Baptist Church Cemetery at 6701 Miami Church Rd, Concord.

Survivors include wife, Rachel Elaine Hartsell of Concord, NC; son, Stacey Hartsell of Concord, NC; daughter, Robin Hartsell Furr of Concord, NC; daughter, Penny Denise Holleman of Kannapolis, NC; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Lambert and Gaynell Hartsell, both of Concord, NC.
