David Huneycutt

David Vane Huneycutt, 87 years of age, formerly of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2011 at his home in Charlotte. He was a diesel mechanic for 28 years at International Harvester of Charlotte. Mr. Huneycutt was born August 19, 1924 in Stanly County to the late David Franklin Huneycutt and Daisy Belle Walton Huneycutt. He was also preceded in death by his son, Pete Huneycutt, and his daughter, Dianna Huneycutt. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 27, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Cemetery of Oakboro. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Pattie McCaine Whitley Huneycutt, of the home; and his children, Patricia Huneycutt, Kay Combs, Jerry Huneycutt, Gayle Marsh, Debra Hartsell, Charles Huneycutt, Kenneth Huneycutt, and Patty Ferguson all of the Charlotte area; 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
