David Lail

David Carol Lail, 60, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at his home in Charlotte. He was born February 25, 1958 in Shelby, NC to parents Archie Griffin Hamrick, deceased, and Martha Phillips Lail.  David attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and retired from Hahn-Mason Air Systems. He was a member of Newell Masonic Lodge 739 AFAM, Newell Chapter #344 Order of Eastern Star, and Scottish Rite Valley of Charlotte. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his love of family, sense of humor, and giving spirit.

David is survived by his wife of 21 years, Alison Tenney Lail; four children, Stephanie King, Derrin Lail and partner Elizabeth, Andrew Gregory and wife Holly, and Sarah Lail; 6 grandchildren; five siblings, Roger Hamrick, Robbie Draughn, Charles Lail, Gary Hamrick and Joey Hamrick; caretaker, aunt Irene Lail; personal handyman and special friend, William and Terry Hargett. He is preceded in death by his dad, Earl Clayton Lail; and brother, Doug Lail.

The celebration of life, with Masonic rites, will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Harrisburg, officiated by family friend, Rev. Rick Wilson of Calvary Foursquare Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Monday, 12:00 to 1:45 pm. Following the service, a burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Park, Harrisburg.
