David “Plug†Lowder, 50, of Locust, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Lowder was born December 28, 1960 in Cabarrus County. He was employed as a machinist at Avdel in Stanfield and a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Locust. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church of Locust, officiated by Pastor Charlie Littlejohn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his parent’s home, 417 Renee Ford Road, Locust. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Bradley Lowder of the home; his sons, Devin Eugene Lowder and Brent Everett Lowder, both of Locust; his parents, Daniel Eugene Lowder and Betty Kay Green Lowder; his brother, James Lowder of Locust; his stepsons, Tommy Wilburn of Carthage, TN, and David Wilburn of Stanfield; his mother-in-law Joanne Helms of Stanfield; his brother-in-law, Michael Bradley of Danville, VA; his nieces, Stephanie and Casey Lowder of Locust; several aunts and uncles and many cousins.
