David Louis Parker, 68, of Concord, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 11am until 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church 3600 US Hwy 601 South Concord on Friday, February 15th at 11am following a one hour state from 10 until 11 am at the church. Pastor Carrie Bishop will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Parker was born on September 2, 1944 in Jefferson County, Kentucky, to the late Carl Ivo Parker and Edith Norris Parker. He served in the US Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. David and his family moved from Louisville Kentucky in 1982. He retired from Philip Morris as a maintenance technician. He enjoyed time with his family, golfing and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wilma Cloyd Parker of the home; son, Tim Parker of Concord; daughter, Tara Parker Garrett and husband David of Concord; six grandchildren, Spencer, Katelyn, Kinsey, and Patrick Garrett, and Jared, and Bailey Parker; brothers, Wayne Parker “Patâ€, Harold Parker, Paul Parker “Pamâ€, and Gary Parker “Vickie†all of Louisville, KY.
