David Seger

David Keith Seger, 74, of Concord, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

David was born April 24, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Commodore Perry Seger and the late Mary Elizabeth Hawk Seger.

David was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member and longtime Sunday School teacher of Pitts Baptist Church.  David saw the value of sharing the gospel with children and loved being an AWANA Bible story leader.  He was a deacon and chairman of deacons.  David also shared the gospel through Gideon Jail Ministry.  He was a master storyteller and jingle quoter, always telling dad-jokes.  David retired from IBM after 32 years and later worked as a custom homebuilder.  Most of all, David loved his family and enjoyed spending special time with his children and grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Survivors include beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce Collingwood Seger; son, Keith (Kathy) Seger of Concord; son, Kevin (Sherri) Seger of Concord; son, Karl (Joy) Seger of Concord; son, Kurt (Lisa) Seger of Mooresville; daughter, Kimberly Seger of Concord; brother, Donald (Doris) Seger of Concord; 17 grandchildren, Joshua (Katherine), Megan (Bryan), Logan, Jesse, Bryson (Annabel), Cassidi, Cameron, Grant, Hope, Clarke, Faith, Jane, Wade, Jed, Emma, Nathan and Ella; great grandson, Micah; niece, Sue (Tracy) Sapp; nephew, Steve (Mireille) Seger; and beloved dog, Kasey.  Also, in loving memory of his beloved niece, Sherri Seger and sister-in-law, Donna Seger.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:45 pm, Monday, February 17, 2020 at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Kevin Seger, Rev. B. Scott Davis, and Rev. Jonathan Turner.  Burial with military honors will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte.
