David Thompson

David Ray Thompson, age 43 of Troy, passed away on July 3 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Fayetteville, NC. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Sunday, July 8 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The funeral service will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Darryl Medley and Rev. Henry Jenkins. Burial will be at Holly Mount Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead, NC. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Mr. Thompson was born in Montgomery County on November 2, 1968 to Lacy Ray Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Lowder Thompson. He is also survived by his wife, Astacia Celeste Bryant Thompson, of the home; one son, Christian Thompson, of the home; one step-son, Lemonte Davis, Jr; one step-daughter, Nyaja Bryant, both of the home; two brothers, Mark Thompson of Norwood and Matthew Thompson of Mt. Gilead; mother in law, Minister Shelia Watkins of Badin; father in law, Henry Bryant of Albemarle. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Thompson family.
