David Whitley

David Alan Whitley, age 55 of Albemarle, NC passed away on January 29, 2011 at his home in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 1 from 2:30-4 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Rev. Adam Hatley and Rev. Ray Johnson will officiate the services. He was born in Stanly County on July 7, 1955 to the late James Carroll “Jack” Whitley, as well as Joan Eagle Sikes and step-father Jack Sikes of Badin, who survive. Mr. David Alan Whitley is survived by his wife of 23 years Lisa Ellen Morris Whitley of Albemarle; son Alex Whitley and wife Sharon of Charlotte; daughter, Alexa Whitley of Charlotte; sister, Karen Whitley of Albemarle; granddaughters, Kaylee and Peyton Whitley; step-brother, Henry Sikes of Mooresville; step-sisters, Cindy Denn of Wisconsin, and Cheryl Hartman of Concord?; and step-mother Katherine Whitley of Albemarle. He worked at Tucker Town Water Treatment Plant as the Operator in Responsible Charge for 24 years. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, 222 S Church St # 303 Charlotte, NC 28202.
