Davis Hutson
October 8, 1933 — May 16, 2015
Davis Leon Hutson, 81 years of age, of Midland, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Dave (Leon) was born October 8, 1933 in West Virginia to the late Stanley Abram Hutson and the late Gordia Audra Gifford Hutson. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Karen Elizabeth Hutson; and two brothers, Wayne Hutson and Gifford "Giff" Hutson.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at the Mt Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg, WV. Dave proudly served his country in the US Navy and military rites will be conducted following the service.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Judith Dotson Hutson of Midland; two daughters, Jamie (Darrill) Plummer of Midland, and Lea Anne (Rick) Bayless of Wilmington; and he was "Tutu" to seven grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Joey (Lindsay) Smith, Ben (Taylor) Bayless, Drew Bayless, Sarah Bayless, Melissa (Jon) Holmes, and Matthew Plummer; four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, Abe, and Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
Dave was retired from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp. and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe.
