D. Deborah Dees-Gladden

D. Deborah Dees-Gladden, 64, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020.

Deborah was born January 22, 1956 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Charles Darwin Dees and the late Doris Joan Ramona Scipio Dees.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, C. Darwin Dees.

Deborah was an active member of Bellefonte Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church of America.  She retired as a nuclear engineer from Duke Energy after nearly 40 years. Outside of work and the church, Deborah always strived to help others. From helping students receive and learn about scholarships, to helping organize supply drives for men and woman shelters. Even simply things like lending an ear. Her smile and laugh were contagious and would put anyone at ease  in an instant. Most of all, Deborah was a loving wife, a caring mother, and wonderful grandma.  Deborah was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include beloved husband of 35 years, Larry J. Gladden of Harrisburg; son, Brandon (Monica) Gladden of Statesville; son, Bradford Gladden of Greensboro; grandson, Jamel Gladden; nephews, Derek and Julian Dees; great nephews, Dylan and Chance Dees; and a host of family and close friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg.   The visitation will be webcast at the following link: http://video.ibm.com/channel/drygeSYpxX7 .  The private funeral service will be webcast at 2:00 pm on Monday, officiated by Rev. Sonya MacAuley Allen.
