Debra Hefner, 48, of Stanfield, entered the arms of God on March 5, 2010, at her home after a courageous battle against Leukemia. She was a bone marrow transplant patient and was an inspiration to many people. Debra had a bubbly personality, a constant smile, sharp wit, infectious laugh and a great sense of humor and a true zest of life. She loved her faith in Christ, her husband, family, children, grandchildren and was employed with the U. S. Postal Service in Stanfield. She touched many lives in many ways. She enjoyed traveling, the beach, music and loved all animals, especially cats. Debra was born Sept. 4, 1961, in Charlotte, NC, daughter of Ray and Julia Wilson, Stanfield. Her family moved to Stanfield in 1975 from Charlotte, and she loved country living. Debra was preceded in death by her grandparents Clifford and Sarah Wilson, and James and Cammie Parks; brother Tony Wilson; and father-in-law, Guy H. Hefner, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Guy H. Hefner, Jr. and son Marcus, both of the home; daughters Tina Goss, Marilyn Smith and Elizabeth Smith; her cherished grandchildren Trevor Goss, Owen Love, Angelina Smith, Gracyn Smith and Nevaeh Smith; parents Ray and Julia Wilson of Stanfield; siblings Randy Wilson, David Wilson, Nathan Wilson and wife, Barbara, Libby Watts and husband, Danny; mother-in-law Jane Hefner of Stanfield; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the United States. Visitation will be Monday, 5:00 – 8:00, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Tuesday, 2:00, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim White of Loves Grove United Methodist Church, Stanfield. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte. The family will meet at her home. Rest in peace our beloved Debbie.
