Deene Helms

Sybil Deene Griffin Helms, 82 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Lutheran Home in Albemarle. Mrs. Helms was born November 21, 1929 in to the late Floyd Ernest Griffin and the late Leona Dora Helms Griffin. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30, Monday, March 19, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Love’s Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield. Pastor Jim Aldridge and Pastor Ronnie Russell will officiate. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her son, Jimmy, at 8354 Renee Ford Road, Stanfield. Survivors include her husband, James Madison Helms, of the home; her sons, Ernest Dale Helms and his wife, Cesily, of Mooresville, Marlon Richard “Ricky” Helms and his wife, Debbie, of Keller, Texas, Mitchell Lynn Helms and his wife, Kimberly, Jimmy Dean Helms and his wife, Sherrie, and James Terry Helms, all of Stanfield; nine grandchildren, Sydney, Korbyn, Wyatt, Mary, Nicholas, Shelby, Madison, Casey, and Chad; her sister, Jo Anne Spier and her husband, John, of Wilton, CA.; and her nephews, Jackie, Joseph, and Andy Spier. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Helms family.
