Delores Ford

Delores Irene Hunter Ford, age 76, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, followed by a service in the chapel with Rev. William F. Nix, and Rev. Mike Parks officiating. The burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home of daughter Brenda Haskin on Lower Rocky River Rd. Mrs. Ford was born on August 19, 1935 to the late Woodford Sherrill Hunter and the late Mary Geneva Gibson Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Everette Wilson Ford. She is survived by her children, Lynn Cress and wife Debbie, of Concord; Brenda Haskin and husband Rusty of Concord; James Cress of Concord; Michael Cress and wife Joan of Salisbury; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; step children Beth Ford of Reidsville; Debbie White and husband William of Rocky Mount; Sue Wall and husband Dan of Raleigh; Jenny Strange and husband Danny of New Bern. Memorials may be made to Glorieta Baptist Church, 4912 Hwy 73 E., Concord, NC 28025, and Liberty Commons Nursing Home, 3700 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215.
