Denise Michelle Johnson

Denise Michelle Johnson, 61, of Gold Hill, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023.

Denise was born November 14, 1961, in Ohio to the late George "Russ" Anderson and the late Margaret "Peggy" Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Johnson.

Denise enjoyed rehabilitating squirrels, earning her the nickname "Squirrel". She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Brett Simmons of Albemarle, NC, Christopher Simmons of Clearwater, FL. and Terry Simmons of Oak Hill, WV.; stepdaughter, Hope Hudson of Albemarle, NC; and stepson, Daniel Johnson of  Norwood, NC. Denise also has eighteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
 
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
