Dessie Morgan

Dessie “Johnnie” Mae Bare Morgan, age 85 of Stanfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 05, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. A memorial service will be held in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland on Friday, June 8 at 7:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Richard Owens. Mrs. Morgan was born on July 10, 1926 in Ashe County to the late Jesse Everett Bare and the late Clelia Fall Bare Johnson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Coy Lee Morgan; a son, Jerry Morgan; three brothers, Paul Bare, Fred Bare and Junior Bare; and two sisters, Rosa Lee Morgan and Dettie Holder. She is survived by three sons, Nathan Morgan of Stanfield, Ned Morgan of Mt. Pleasant and Billy Morgan of Stanfield; one daughter, Shannon Laney of the home; two brothers, Raymond Bare and Carl Bare, both of Wilkes County; five sisters, Pansy Walsh, Mary Magaline Kilby, Shirley Bentley, Wanda Lee Bare, and Brenda Karriker, all of Wilkes County; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grand children, and 3 great-great grand children; Also extended family Lidsday Cleffi and Sharon Porter of the home. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Morgan family.
