Dewey Forrest

Dewey Lee Forrest, 78 years of age, of Richfield, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at his home. Dewey was born September 10, 1935 in Stanly County to the late Claude Columbus Forrest and the late Gertie Ann Chandler Forrest. He was also preceded in death in 2006 by his wife, Betty Jane Forrest; sisters, Eula Cranford and Rachel Edwards. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, June 2, 2014, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Kathy Bryant and Rev. Tony Bowman, will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Matton's Grove UMC in Gold Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery at 24732 Matton's Grove Church Road, Gold Hill. He is survived by daughter, Gina Forrest Edwards of Richfield; grandsons, Dustin Mitchell and Brian Lee Mitchell of Richfield; brothers, Thomas Forrest of Marion and Alfred Forrest of Mint Hill. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Forrest family.
