Dexter Efird

Dexter Gene Efird, 52 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 3, 2016.

Dexter was born September 25, 1963 in Albemarle, NC, to Donald Gene Efird and Janice Furr Efird.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 3PM, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Prospect Baptist Church, 502 Prospect Church Rd., Albemarle. The service will be officiated by Rev. Stoney Benfield and Rev. Ray Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Price Efird of Albemarle; father, Donald Gene Efird; mother, Janice Furr Efird; daughters, Lauren Hill (Chase) Bowers, and Leanne Hill; sister, Sheila (Tony) Poplin; and grandson Bennett Bowers all of Albemarle.

Mr. Efird was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, loved to shoot his bow, and had participated in bow tournaments around the country. He loved yard work and the outdoors. He was employed by Charlotte Pipe and Foundry - Plastics Division for the last 30 years.
