Diane Chance

Carolyn Diane Chance, 74, of Albemarle, NC died late Tuesday afternoon, August 22, 2017 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle, NC with her family by her side.

Mrs.Chance was born February 7, 1943 in Albemarle, NC to the late Vance R. and Allie M. (Sasser) Lefler.

On May 30, 1964 as the former Carolyn Diane Lefler she married her loving husband of 34 years Reginald L. Chance who died on April 4, 1999.

She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and received her Bachelors Degrees from Appalachian State University and UNC Charlotte. She received her Masters Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Chance retired after 38 years with the Stanly County Schools System as the Director of Elementary Education. After her retirement she remained active in many groups and organizations.

She enjoyed traveling, the Arts and spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Deidra A. (Mike) Harwood of Stanfield, NC; her devoted son, Ryan V. (Anne) Chance of Raleigh, NC. and her four wonderful grandchildren, Chance, Meredith, Amelia and Will.

Funeral services to celebrate Mrs. Chance's life will be 11:00 o'clock a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Albemarle, NC. Ch, Col Scott Rummage. At the family's request burial will be private.

Carolyn will be forever missed by her loving and devoted family and many friends. May God grant her eternal rest.
