Dianna Sue Helms

Dianna Sue Lambert Furr Helms, 72, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 .

She was born April 18, 1946 to the late Grady Eugene Lambert and Evelyn Lambert.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Olin L. Furr; and brother, Jerry E. Lambert, Sr.

Sue had a passion for loving children.  She worked as a cook for many years at Quality Child Care and when any child needed a hug, they would find her.
Sue could also grow anything that you gave her.  She found comfort in taking care of things, often making food for company.  When you would go to her house, the first thing she would ask you was "if you had eaten".

The family will receive friends from 6pm - 8pm, Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland.  The funeral service will be on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2pm at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church in Stanfield, officiated by Pastors Darrell Nance and Roy Lee Barbee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her sister, Judy Miller; daughter, Angie Freeman and her husband, Eric, son, Kevin Furr; grandchildren, AJ Smith, Alex Smith and his wife Billi, Nic Smith, Marien Furr; great-grandchildren, Anthony Lee Smith and Laney Jean Smith.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharries, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
