Dixie Huneycutt

Dixie Huneycutt, 87, of Oakboro, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Dixie was born January 6, 1935 to the late Flave Patterson Huneycutt and the late Rosa Carver Love. She was preceded in death by brother, Sherrill Patterson Huneycutt and niece, Debby Butler.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 from 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM, at Big Lick Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Jeff Springer. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery, 1373 North Main Street Oakboro, NC 28129. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial in the Big Lick Baptist Fellowship Hall.

Survivors include nieces, Sandra Ingold (Mitchell) and Renee Huneycutt; great-nieces and nephews, Richard Huneycutt (Christa), Brianna Talbert, Steven Ingold (Kayla), Josh Ingold, Angela Burgess (Michael), Ashley Huneycutt (Brandon); and 9 great-great nieces and nephews.

Ms. Dixie loved to baby sit and was known throughout Oakboro and surrounding areas for taking care of children. She was an avid Panther fan and she loved to garden and fish. Dixie enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family where she was a faithful servant for Big Lick Baptist Church throughout her life.
