Docia Hays

Docia Mae Mauldwin Hays, age 86, of 5410 Idaho Lane NW Concord passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Avante at Concord. She was born on August 6, 1924 in Mecklenburg County to the late Wilbert David and Docia Kiker Mauldwin. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Harvey Hays, Sr. and a son David Ray Hays. Docia was a homemaker and a member of New Life Church. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord Chapel on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 1 PM, with Rev. James Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery on Freedom Drive in Charlotte. She is survived by: sons, Billy Hays of Concord and Tim Hays of Concord; sisters, Dorothy Roach of Charlotte and Delores Tate of Mooresville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
