Dolan Dewhitt Loflin, age 90 of New London, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Tuesday, August 14 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at New London First Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 15 at 4:00 PM, with a 30 minute state, officiated by Rev. David Ayers, Rev. Otis Goins and Rev. Max Walker. Burial will follow in the New London Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his daughter, Willie Mae Morgan, 201 N. Ferry Road, New London. Mr. Loflin was born in Davidson County on January 21, 1922, to the late Talmadge Dewhitt Loflin and the late Jennie Lee Walker Loflin. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mae Rose Forrest Loflin, of the home; one daughter, Willie Mae Morgan of New London; two granddaughters, Lynn Little and her husband Randy of Albemarle and Dana Minderlein and her husband Scott of Concord; one great-grandson, Zachary Little of Albemarle; three brothers, David Loflin of Concord, Huey Loflin and Eugene Loflin, both of Shallote; three sisters, Alice Plowman of Richfield, Jewell Sides of Shallote and Vonceil Hulin of Denton. Mr. Loflin was a loving husband, father and pa-paw. He was employed in the maintenance department with the Stanly County School System for 28 years and a member of New London First Baptist Church.
