Dolan Taylor

Dolan Edward Taylor, 86 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Dolan was born July 27, 1927 in Stanly County to the late Arlie Luther Taylor and the late Mary Lela Thompson Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lelia Louise Huneycutt Taylor, who passed away in 2010; and brother, Clinton Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Ron Huneycutt. The entombment will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory Mausoleum at 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle. Military honors will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12. At other times the family will be gathering at his home.

Survivors include son, Reggie Taylor and wife Melanie of Albemarle; grandsons, Steven Andrew Taylor and Daniel Edward Taylor, both of Albemarle; brother, Pines Taylor of Albemarle; and sister, Juanita Smith of Aquadale.

Dolan served his country honorably in the United States Army. He retired from Collins & Aikman Corporation.
