Dolly Lee

Dolly Safrit Troutman Lee, 87, passed peacefully unto her Heavenly Home, at her daughter's home with her children at her side. She has been in decline health for several years, and seriously under Hospice Care for a few weeks.

Dolly loved life and adored her family. To celebrate her life, a service will be held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 4500 Rimer Road, located in Rimertown, officicated by Pastor Rafe Allison. The service will be Friday, February 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm, with her loved ones receiving friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Dolly Lee was born October 1, 1928 to the late Roy D. A. Safrit and Daisy Watts Safrit. Also prceding her in death, her husband, Fred Adam Troutman; an infant son, Jerry Wayne Troutman; her second husband, Coy Ray "Sonny" Lee; her step son, Lance Monroe "Butch" Lee; her two sisters, Priscilla Mae Safrit and Doris Alice Safrit; and her brother Fred Armond Safrit.

Surviving Mrs. Lee are her two daughters, Barbara Jean Barbee, husband Earl, Pattie Dean Mitchell, husband, Rodney; her son, Chris Adam Troutman; her step son, David Lee.

She was also a loving "Mamaw" to eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several loving nieces.

Dolly was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Class of 1945. She was a lifelong member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, where she took an active role in sharing the love of Jesus during her earlier years.

She loved people and the joy of the holidays thus leading her into the Retail Industry, starting as a bookkeeper at McClellans Department Store, downtown Concord, then to McCrory's in the Carolina Mall. Dolly retired at 82, after 15 years of active service from Walmart, following a severe shoulder injury.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be sent to Hospice of Cabarrus County or Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Rimertown, in her memory.

Hartsell Funeral Home will be serving Dolly and her family needs and wishes.
