Don Curtis Blalock, 80, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home in Kannapolis. Mr. Blalock was born October 4, 1932 in Richmond County to the late Roy Lee Blalock, Sr. and Erin Abercrombie Blalock. He worked for many years as a printer for the Stanley News and Press. He was an avid wood carver, a member of the Lions Club, worked for Oasis, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a church treasurer for New London Methodist. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, November 7, at Bethpage United Methodist Church, 109 Fellowship Avenue, Kannapolis, officiated by Dr. Mark Portis and Rev. Duane Melton. The family will receive friends following the service. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Purlene Carriker Blalock, of the home; his son, Randy Joe and his wife, Cathy and his granddaughter, Alexa, of Kannapolis; and his brother, Roy Lee Blalock, Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Burlington.
