Don Gordon

Don Cordell Gordon, 69, of Locust, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at home in Locust.

Don was born May 17, 1953, in North Carolina to the late Henry Cordell Gordon and the late Esther Mae Gordon.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Brenda Hoggy.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Bob Dennis. Burial will follow at Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 24671 Millingport Road., Locust.

Don was an amazing son, husband, father and grandfather.  He enjoyed sports, fishing, dancing and exercising.  One of his favorite pastimes was going to the beach where he could stare at the ocean for hours.  Don met his wife Carla at Lambert Dance Hall, and then went on to enjoy 13 years of marriage together.  Don loved helping others that were in need, and would often take on any handy-man task for those that were enduring hard times, especially the elderly.  He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.   Don loved the Lord and was a good servant to both mankind and God, and he now rests in the works of his Lord and Saviour.

Survivors include wife, Carla Gordon of Locust, NC, sons, Chris Gordon and Bryan Gordon; step daughter, Ashley Alpheaus; grandchildren, Summer, Nikki, Kyle and Rahsha; sisters, Wanda Bowers and Cathy Eudy; brothers, Larry Freeman and Van Gordon.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Montgomery County.
