Donald Carter

Donald Ray Carter, 74 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Carolina's Medical Center-Northeast in Concord.
Donald was born October 8, 1939 in Cabarrus County to the late Robert Lewis Carter Jr. and Geneva McDonald Carter. He was also preceded in death by brother, Doy Mack Carter. Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran serving for 32 years and was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. His lifelong hobby was working with local high school marching bands and creating floral designs and enjoyed assisting local florists in making arrangements.
Survivors include brothers, Larry Gene Carter and Dale Alan Carter of Concord, Marvin Wayne Carter of North Myrtle Beach, SC; nephew, Thad Carter of Matthews; niece, Jeannie Carter-Siddle of Concord.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Concord. The funeral service will follow in the church at 4:00 pm officiated by Rev. Jimmy Hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
