Donald Heald

Donald Lee Heald, 90 years of age, of Locust, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, February 14, 2014 at Avante Nursing Home in Concord. Donald was born February 22, 1923 in Ironton, Ohio to the late William Smith Heald and the late Lillian Mae Rutledge Heald. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bill Frank Heald. The memorial service will be on Memorial Day, May 26, 2014 at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, OH. He is survived by sons, Robert Heald of Jefferson City, MO, Geoffrey Heald of Clinton, IN, and Terry Heald of Seattle, WA; daughters, Candice Lyon of Locust, NC and Dawn West of Perry, OK; sister, Lois Anderson of Ironton, OH; five grandchildren, Jason Heald, Kimberly Heald, Rebecca Kilgore, Crystal Story, and David Story; and numerous great-grandchildren. Donald served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. and was stationed in the South Pacific. He attended Friendship United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mt. Pleasant House, formerly Carebridge Assisted Living, and Avante Nursing Home for their compassionate care. Memorials may be made to the church mission's fund of donor’s choice. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Heald family.
